Pitch Perfect: Unleashing Your Entrepreneurial Spirit Season 1

The Vietnamese American Business Association (VABA) proudly hosted the inaugural "Pitch Perfect: Unleashing Your Entrepreneurial Spirit" event on April 26, at 1211 Embarcadero, Oakland, CA. This landmark event is a testament to VABA's commitment to fostering support, advocacy, and networking within the Vietnamese American and broader business communities. The event successfully connected startups of all sizes with crucial resources to thrive, including potential investors and experienced industry advisors.



Pitch Perfect" featured a compelling lineup of 10 innovative startups and attracted the presence of more than 12 venture capitalists and angel investors, along with numerous other participants, bringing the total attendance to over 90. This diverse gathering created a vibrant hub for networking and exchange, serving as a platform for emerging businesses to showcase their visions and products.


  • Tru Mould Technologies LLC: Revolutionizing the plastic injection molding industry with advanced digital technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • KingFish Boat: Distinguishing itself as the sole U.S. manufacturer of 25-foot cabin boats, catering to a specific market niche looking for affordable luxury.

  • Nokki Farm: Promoting healthy eating with their line of freeze-dried tropical fruit snacks sourced from ethical, small-scale farms in Vietnam.

  • Bridge: A new mobile app designed to enhance social interactions by connecting users through shared activities, redefining networking in the digital age.

  • Proko Park: Offering a cutting-edge solution for parking management via cloud-connected sensors and a user-friendly mobile app.

  • Datablaze: Providing an AI-driven platform that acts as a copilot for e-commerce teams, streamlining the customer journey through data analytics.

  • Banh Mi Oven: Expanding its reach in the Bay Area, this restaurant chain is known for its authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi and a diverse menu catering to various tastes.

  • Reshine Renewables Inc.: Pioneering in the renewable energy sector with their advanced microgrid and energy storage solutions to promote sustainable energy use.

Proko Park was voted the top project at the event, earning widespread acclaim from many potential investors for its innovative solutions to urban parking challenges. The startup, founded by CEO Thomas Li, uses object-detection sensors connected to a cloud system, which not only helps users find available parking spots in real-time but also manages automatic payments and provides detailed analytics for parking facility management. Their technology addresses critical pain points such as inefficient payment systems and the lack of real-time data for optimizing space usage and pricing.
